The 2023 Lake Vernon President’s BBQ took place on Saturday August 19th at the home of John and Jane MacLennan. The MacLennan’s home was an ideal location for the BBQ with ample space for parking, and beautiful lake and garden views.
The wonderful location and great weather (sunny and 23 degrees) was enjoyed by 87 attendees – this was a record number! There was a nice mix of members who had attended previous BBQs and first time attendees.
Now for the food – there were many salads supplied by LVA Board members (and friends) plus a choice of hamburgers, cheeseburgers, sausages, veggie burgers or chicken burgers. For dessert, ice cream treats were distributed. Although difficult to coordinate food for such a large group, everyone seemed to enjoy the buffet.
As you will see from the pictures below, the BBQ was a great way to socialize.
A special thank you to John and Jane for hosting the BBQ. Also, thank you to our BBQ chefs, Larry and Doug Funston and Doug Bennett (and Marg on buns) and the Board members who brought salads and helped with set up and clean-up.
