Each September, the Lake Vernon Association (LVA) organizes an LVA Golf Tournament. It is a 9-hole best ball tournament which allows golfers of all abilities to participate. There is a social following the golf for both golfers and their guests. It is a fun day and a great way to connect with others on the lake.

2025 LVA Golf Tournament Recap
The Lake Vernon Association held its annual Golf Day at Deerhurst Lakeside Course on Saturday, September 13th. Though the forecast early in the week hinted at rain, the skies cleared just in time, and 26 enthusiastic golfers across 7 teams teed off under beautiful, sunny conditions.
Friendly Competition, Great Company
As in past years, the event followed a relaxed 9-hole best ball format, making it accessible and fun for players of all skill levels. While scores were tracked, the emphasis was firmly on fun and camaraderie — with just enough friendly rivalry for bragging rights.

A big congratulations to the two teams who tied for first place with an impressive score of 30:

- Team 2: Kevin Laframboise, Marie Laframboise, Alexandra Laframboise, Gareth Beale

Putting Contest Highlights
Always a crowd favourite, the Putting Contest featured two challenge areas this year.
Winners:
- Marshall Platt – 5 balls through the holes
- Tom Peters – 4 balls through the holes
Post-Golf Social on the Terrace
After the game, players and guests gathered on the Eclipse Terrace for a relaxed social featuring a Mediterranean spread, vegetable tray, assorted pizzas, cookies, and drinks. It was the perfect way to wind down, reconnect, and enjoy the scenic view.
Everyone went home a winner thanks to the LVA portion of our 50/50 draw, There were also several great prize draws:
- Two sweatshirts generously donated by Ruthven Marine
- A one-night stay at Deerhurst,
- Thanks to the Schmidts and Deerhurst Resort for our draw prizes.
